Fred Couples, wearing a pair ECCO Golf Street Premiere shoes, leads the Masters after Thursday.
Fred Couples golf shoes is sponsored by Ecco. I believe he is wearing the Ecco Golf Street Premier. But why is Fred Couples not wearing socks, by the way?

The 50-year-old, Fred Couples, is currently in the lead at the Masters Golf Tournament.Fred Couples Golf Shoes: On a mesmerizing Masters Thursday that began

with ceremonial drives by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, and ended with a gratifying if not quite triumphal return by Tiger Woods, it was left to Fred Couples and Tom Watson to provide a new wrinkle.
The 50-year-old Fred Couples leads this Masters after one round with a 6-under-par 66 that featured the same weapons he’s used to win three Champions Tour events: solid driving, surgical putting. Watson, 60 now, followed up his valiant ‘09 British Open with a 5-under-par 67, the first time he has broken 70 here since 1987.For some on hand at the 2010 Masters, the return of Tiger Woods, so far, is overshadowed by Fred Couples. Yes, Couples, at -6, is the leader after the first round, which, at 50, is newsworthy in itself.
However, Couples began turning hundreds of heads Thursday in Augusta, Ga., the second he walked out of the clubhouse wearing a pair of golf shoes that resembled something a pro skateboarder would dawn with a low-riding pair of Hurley trousers. It also appeared as though he forgot to put on his socks. For some on hand at the 2010 Masters, the return of Tiger Woods, so far, is overshadowed by Fred Couples. Couples is now sponsored by ECCO, a leader in high-end golf shoes. This year, the company is pushing its Golf Street Premiere line.
The new ECCOs come in a variety of colors. In fact, the sky seems to be the limit. Pink, purple, orange, lime green and red are available.
These ECCOs seem to be as casual as a pair of Chuck Taylors and durable as a steel-toe hiker.
Couples hasn't pushed the envelope with any vibrant colors yet, sporting the classic black Street Premiere with a hunter's orange outsole, which has pre-molded traction spikes, similar to those of a turf she.
While it rmains unclear whether Couples' new shoes have anything to do with his Thursday score of 66, some say they have added much-needed comfort and support for the 1992 Masters champion.
Couples has long suffered with back problems and contemplated retiring several times. He missed the cut the last two years at Augusta and was sidelined for most of 2007.
This year, with ECCO underfoot, Couples has burst onto the Champions Tour with three victories.
Couples won the 2010 Ace Group Classic, Toshiba Classic and the Cap Cana Championship, becoming the first player in Champions Tour history to win three of his first four career tournaments.
Tom Watson, 60, is in a five-way tie for second, going into Friday at -5.
Meantime, Tiger Woods fired a 68 Thursday and is tied for seventh.
