Much like it unfolded at the University of Alabama - Huntsville last month when biology professor Amy Bishop opened fire at a faculty meeting, killing three, Nathaniel Brown's rampage Tuesday, March 9 is the latest
incident in what seems to be an epidemic of college campus killings. Police say it was Nataniel Brown, 51, who, upset about a bad employee review, burst into a Ohio
State University maintenance building and shot a supervisor and a co-worker before shooting himself. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.Amy Bishop, a gifted and respected professor was also upset about her status as an instructor before she opened fire a group of colleagues at the UAH.Brown was a probationary custodial worker and reportedly feared being let go for poor performance. He died at the Ohio State University Medical Center after turning the gun on himself.
Killed was Ohio State building-services manager Larry Wallington. An operations manager, Henry Butler is in stable condition as of 4:41 p.m. Tuesday.Unlike Bishop, Brown killed himself, which leads some to believe Tuesday's rampage may uncover evidence Brown's motive may be more similar to that of Joe Stack. Stack flew an private airplane into an Austin, Texas office complex last month, hoping to kill IRS workers. Stack was tired of paying "the man" and wasn't happy with his financial situation after years of working.Brown reportedly could not make ends meet without his janitorial job at OSU.Amy Bishop, according to her husband and officials at UAH, made more than $60,000 per year and is still on the payroll. Some say her motive was centered on an ego and sense of entitlement she often displayed toward fellow professors.
