In a new blog post from retired sports journalist and editor Furman Bisher, an email from a "trustworthy journalist" Bisher has known for years suggests Woods suffered injuries to the face after his wife hit him with a 9-iron. When Woods was taken to the hospital, the severity of his injuries was revealed and he soon flew to Phoenix to receive plastic surgery.
