Luge Tragedy Video…Death Porn?

Luge Tragedy video…death porn? The luge tragedy video has become more viral than the Erin Andrews peephole video. Everyone’s obsession with the death video is morbit, at best. Shortly after the video was first introduced, it was pulled from YouTube. Some claim that it was a copyright dispute, whereas initial reports pointed to the possibility that maybe Google has compassion that the news media does not.

The Providence, a Canadian newspaper, suggests that the luge tragedy video is nothing more than “death porn.” After thinking about the implications, the phrase seems suitable for the situation.

What is porn? Well, traditional porn showcases sex acts. It’s taboo- and something we aren’t supposed to sit around and watch. There’s a bit of shame involved with porn. It’s inappropriate to many, and those who crave it are looked down on.

Well, the luge tragedy video could be construed as a form of pornography. For some reason, people are intrigued with watching the footage again and again – even though it could be seen as inappriate. Even though death is a taboo. There are those that call for it to be banned – or at least dropped from coverage.

What do you think about the luge tragedy video? Do you think it is “death porn” or do you think those are too strong of words for the video.
