It is never easy to predict just what will capture the attention of web surfers around the world, but it shouldn't be a surprise that the Super Bowl dominated much of what people have been searching.
The following are some of today's most popular search terms, where we go beyond the words and explore the stories behind the searches:
Dockers free pants and/or dockers.com/freepants
These two terms have dominated Google since last night, with everyone looking to get their digital hands onto a pair of free Docker pants. Advertised during the Super Bowl, visitors were invited to submit just a few bits of information (name, e-mail, etc.) and see instantly if you win.
It's curious that people would search a web address, instead of just going directly to it, but to each his own. To find out more about Dockers and the "no pants" trend in Super Bowl ads, click here.
Super Bowl Ads and/or top super bowl commercials 2010
Little needs to be said about this, as the term itself is fairly obvious. Often more talked about than the game itself, the advertisements aired during the super bowl cost big bucks and more often than not get big laughs. This year's crop isn't getting much praise, but some highlights included the Jay Leno/David Letterman/Oprah spot, as well as strange number of commercials featuring pantless people.

Steve Phillips and/or Brooke Hundley
Former ESPN baseball analyst and New York Mets general manager, Steve Phillips, talked about his affair with ESPN production assistant Brooke Hundley on the TODAY Show on Monday. His discussion of sexual addiction and his stay at the Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services clinic - not surprisingly - sparked web hunters to go searching. We have our own story on the subject, which you can read here.
It's the 100th anniversary of the American institution, which has taught boys how to build campfires, tie knots and help the elderly for a century. Congrats, Boy Scouts!
Sade
The sultry singer is back for the first time in nearly a decade with a new album, "Soldier of Love," which hits stores tomorrow. Check out what our music critic, Jim Farber, thought of the album: Farber: Sade's 'Soldier of Love' betrays occasional freshness from famously static star
Roger Daltrey
"The Who" lead singer put on a bang-up halftime show during Sunday's Super Bowl, and the aging rocker and his band mate Peter Townshend subjects to web searches today. Internet hounds ranged from wanting to know their age - Daltrey is 55, Townshend is 54 - to information about drummer "Who" Zak Starkey.
Anna Kendrick
Aside from being an attractive actress and scoring an Oscar nomination for her co-starring role in "Up in the Air," Anna Kendrick sparked Internet buzz today when she discussed the controversial "American Idol" contestant Adam Lambert on the Ryan Seacrest radio show.
The two had apparently run into one another more than a year ago, before either of them scored their celebrity-making gigs, but shared secretly with each other that they'd landed spots in "American Idol" and "Up in the Air." The two have since run into one another doing the awards circuit, and Seacrest suggested in a Twitter post that Kendrick would take Lambert to the Academy Awards.
